James Allenby-Kirk is a comedian, writer, actor, lover and a part time gladiator. As a comedian he won the prestigious new act competition SO YOU THINK YOU'RE FUNNY in 2010. He was also nominated for Best New Comedian at the Scottish Variety Awards 2011 & 2012 and performed at the Montreal Just For Laughs festival in 2011. James developed his stand up character, confusingly also called James Kirk, for KRONICLES OF KIRK, part of Channel 4's online Comedy Blaps series, which he also wrote and starred in. As an actor James has appeared in 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY, GARY: TANK COMMANDER, BOB SERVANT, PRAM FACE, SCOT SQUAD, RAB C NESBITT and HEDZ, and recently in THE SLAB BOYS at Glasgow's Citizens Theatre. James has also written for numerous television and radio shows including ONLY AN EXCUSE, CAN YOU HEAR ME AT THE BACK, THE ELLIS & CLARKE SHOW and ALL THE MILKMAN'S CHILDREN. James is one third of the Scottish sketch trio How Do I Get Up There?, with whom he wrote and performed a pilot for BBC Scotland in 2013.
