Cal Wilson’s comedy career started in New Zealand 1990, where she was a founding member of the Court Jesters improv group, and was part of the New Zealand team that won the World Theatresports title in Los Angeles in 1994. Since then, her live performances have demonstrated her enormous talent as a stand-up comedian. Her festival shows play to sold out houses, with THE GREAT INTENDER 2011, LIVELY 2010 and UP THERE, CAL WILSON 2006 garnering rave reviews. She has appeared at Montreal's Just for Laughs Festival as well as the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. In 2011, she appeared as part of the stage tour QI Live alongside Stephen Fry and Alan Davies and appeared on QI itself in 2012. Additional television credits include Australian shows SPICKS AND SPECKS, GOOD NEWS WEEK, THANK GOD YOU’RE HERE and SLEUTH 101 – she was also a regular panelist on New Zealand’s TV 3 topical comedy show, 7 DAYS. Cal is also an experienced radio host – credits include co-hosting Australia’s Nova Radio’s national drive show THE WRONG WAY HOME. In the UK, she has appeared on BBC Radio 4’s NEWS QUIZ with Sandi Toksvig. Cal is an award winning comic – accolades include the Best Newcomer Award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival as well as New Zealand’s prestigious Billy T Award.
